Classic Summer Sipping with Kelvingrove Cafe
Summer may call for fresh and tropical flavours, but sometimes, a timeless classic is exactly what the season needs. Enter the Rob Roy, a rich, slow-sipping cocktail made with Old Perth Original.
To help us craft a version worthy of warmer days, we’ve partnered with Bran Ford, newly appointed head bartender at Glasgow’s iconic Kelvingrove Café. Bran brings both experience and creativity to the table, and his take on this staple whisky cocktail is everything we hoped for: bold, balanced, and endlessly sippable.
Bran on his inspiration:
“For the Rob Roy, I wanted to stay classic and highlight Old Perth’s sherry flavours. The sweet vermouth does this exceptionally, whilst the bitters add balance to the whole cocktail. The Rob Roy is also a cocktail which should be ordered far more and is often forgotten next to the Manhattan.”
